Building Maint.Responsible for oversight of issues related to building and grounds, including capital improvements and major maintenance projects.

Research options for cutting utility costs, consult with staff about them, and propose

options to the House Committee and the Board.

 
Building Usage

Responsible for reviewing how building is used and developing a long range plan

of priorities regarding improvements or changes.

 
BulletinCollates and mails monthly bulletin and assists in other mailing and clerical tasks. 
BylawsReviews and makes recommendations regarding updating Bylaws. 
CemeteryMaintain records and sales of cemetery plots and arranges for any maintenance. 
Chevra KadishaAttends to the ritual needs of members where death has occurred, to include tahara, dressing and burial.  Assistance with funeral arrangements, shiva, ensuring a minyan during shiva week, and meals for the mourners. 
ChoirCurrently inactive 
Finance

Maintains fiscal integrity by monitoring congregational expenditures and income,

budgetary compliance, approval of annual budget.  Committee to meet monthly.

 
FundraisingDevelop, with the Board, initiating fundraising goals and plans.  
Musical event

Coordinates annual concert.  Might include contacting artist, selling tickets,

arranging for underwriters, publicity and food.

 
Hanukah Artist Sale

Coordinates annual artist sale to run concurrently with sale of Hanukah items

from the gift shop.

 
GardeningMaintenance of garden areas, lawn, shrubbery.  Meets Sunday mornings seasonally. 
GatheringMeets the third Thursday of each month.  Brown bag lunch and program for seniors.  Recruits speakers and hosts for dessert. 
Gift ShopCoordinates operation of the Beth Shalom gift shop 
Kitchen

Stocks supplies for the kitchen, maintains kitchen, and responsible for kashrut,

maintenance of appliances, etc., future upgrades/remodeling of kitchen.

 
KnitwitzSunday morning gathering of those interested in knitting, etc. 
LibraryPeriodic review of the collection; keeping collection organized and accessible; annual recommendations for new acquisitions Maintains the library, receives gifts, and ensures the proper checkout procedures; sends reminders to borrowers to return books. 
Lifelong LearningPlanning intergenerational learning programs together with the Rabbi and education staff; identifying annual themes for learning across all our education programs, working with the Rabbi to develop a Beit Midrash program. 
Meditation GroupSunday afternoon gathering of those interested in meditation.

Develops and coordinates plans for increasing membership and welcoming members.  Visiting and assessing the needs of older members 
MitzvahAcknowledges life cycle events and illness in the families of members. 
OnegCoordinates Onegs on Friday nights.

ProgramArranges holiday and social programs for the congregation. 
Religious Education

Develops, implements, and evaluate a religious school curriculum, oversees hiring

and evaluating of religious school personnel. Identifies and involves parents in activities necessary to support our children’s religious education. 

 
Religious ObservanceWorks with Rabbi to develop new approaches to liturgy and services, discuss observance issues, arranges for lay leader to lead services in absence of the Rabbi. 
ShabbatonMakes arrangements for and plans events for biennial weekend congregational retreat. 
Friday Night Shiur BandAccompanies Friday night services – typically once a month – includes guitar, violin, flute and keyboard 
Social JusticeProvides education and awareness of political and social issues that impact our community, participates in projects with other organizations and responds to issues.  
Strategic PlanningDevelops 3-5 year plan to meet goals and objectives of congregation 
Sunday Night ForumDevelops program for monthly Sunday event.  Coordinates pitch-in dinner or reception. 
Torah StudyFinds study leaders for weekly (schedule permitting) study luncheon 
WebsiteAdminister and update the website with the administrator, rabbi, and board.
