Shabbat services begin at 7:30 on Friday evenings and at 9:30 on Saturday mornings, unless listed otherwise.  Evening services are liberal; morning services, traditional. Shabbat ends on Saturday evening, one hour later than the listed time for lighting candles on Friday evening.

Friday, February 3 – Friday Night Services, 7:30 p.m.        

Led by Carolyn Lipson-Walker and the 7th & 8th grade students. Rabbi Besser will participate in the service and deliver a sermon.  Our oneg hosts are the Rabbi Search Committee, in honor of our visiting candidate, Rabbi Brian Besser.  Thanks, Rabbi Search Committee!

 

Saturday, February 4th – Shabbat Morning Service, 9:30 a.m.

Besser will read the fourth aliya from this week’s Torah portion, B’Shallach, including the “song of the sea.”

Saturday, February 4th – Pitch-in Dairy Luncheon & Torah Study, 12:15 p.m.

If you attend the luncheon, please bring a vegetarian, dairy, or pareve dish for 8 people.

At 1:15, Rabbi Besser will lead Torah Study. Everyone is welcome!

Saturday, February 4th  – Havdalah, 7:15 p.m.

Bruce Solomon & Sue Swartz will lead us in a short Havdalah service. Rabbi Besser will participate.

Saturday, February 4th – Congregational Meeting, 8:15 p.m.

For Beth Shalom members only. Rabbi Besser will answer congregants’ questions, facilitated by Search Committee co-chairs Aviva Orenstein and Bruce Solomon. To avoid duplication and use our limited time wisely, questions must be sent by 5 p.m., Thursday the 2nd, to bethshalomrabbisearch@gmail.com. To compare the two candidates, we will repeat many of the questions from our last candidate.
