Artmaking, by its very nature, takes us through the four worlds -- physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual.
We will begin each class by looking at a variety of texts. Each participant will choose a line that speaks to them and create a piece, or a series of art pieces that illuminate the text. The session will start with a short visual meditation so that imagination can be awakened. We will use a variety of mixed media, but will focus on torn paper collage.
Jackie will supply the art materials: small canvases, a variety of gorgeous paper, glue, brushes, blank cards to make mini-creations, paint, markers and small fun tschochkes to enliven each piece. Each person will travel the four worlds: making art to bless their home, feeling the creative process in their heart, using intuition and being connected to the Holy One to create the work of their hands. All skill levels are welcome, especially those who think they are "artistically challenged".
There will be an art supply fee of $18 per person and you must RSVP one week prior to first class. A minimum of 4 people are required.
