The Immigration Justice Task Force will be screening "The Visitor". This award winning and passionate 2007 drama focuses on a Connecticut economics professor who becomes involved in the lives of immigrants is horrified by their arrest and possible deportation, learning the toll it takes on the whole family. Even though the movie is a drama, it is very grounded in the realities of the immigrant and deportation experience.
This is the first of several entertaining and educational events the Immigration Justice Task Force will be holding for the Beth Shalom community. Afterwards there will be a question and answer session with Christie Popp, a local immigration attorney. There will be drinks and nosh available during the event. Doors open at 6:30.
